Easter Sea is My Hometown

His works connect with a viewer on a deeper level of intricate feelings involved that tickle on a person's imagination and the way a story might unfold. Blues and greens of the natural elements have found their place organically and blended to create a new dimension. Working with Eastern and Western talents, Min creates a harmonious world in which the models appear truthful to their character and build on expressing emotions, not trough posing but rather acting a character's part.

In this interview, we speak with Min about his project East Sea and his hometown, being an artist in Seoul, working with models, and we bring back one of the touching childhood memories.







WÜL: In your works, nature adds an important aspect of emotional background to the end product. Tell about the process of scouting for the location and deciding where to shoot?

MIN: I usually use the map to decide on the location to explore. I go to places where there's a lake or an unusually shaped terrain or a beach. There are many beautiful places people don’t tend to find since Koreans concentrate only on Seoul. The important standard is the temples. The regions of temples are always breathtaking and touching…
